<!-- how it works -->

Record, trim, download

Most recordings start with a second of fumbling and end with a reach for the stop button. Trim both off, play back just the part you are keeping, and save it as a WAV file that opens in any app.

  1. 01

    Record

Tap the big button and talk. Pause if you need to, then tap again to stop.

  2. 02

    Trim

Drag the start and end sliders. The waveform shows what you keep; Play checks it.

  3. 03

    Download

Save the trimmed part as WAV, or the untouched original. Record more takes as you go.

Common questions

How do I record my voice online?

Press the record button, allow microphone access when the browser asks, and speak. Press it again to stop. Your take appears with a waveform, where you can play it, trim the start and end, and download it.

Is my recording uploaded anywhere?

No. The recording is made and edited inside your browser tab and never sent to a server. Takes are kept in memory only, so they disappear when you close or reload the page — download anything you want to keep.

What format are the downloads?

The trimmed recording downloads as a WAV file, which plays everywhere and keeps full quality. “Download original” gives you the untrimmed file in the format your browser recorded: WebM in Chrome, Edge and Firefox, or M4A (MP4 audio) in Safari.

Can I record on my iPhone or Android phone?

Yes. It works in Safari on iPhone and Chrome on Android. Keep the screen on and the page open while you record, because phones may pause the microphone when the browser goes to the background.

How long can I record?

Up to 30 minutes per take. The recording stops on its own at the limit and keeps everything up to that point. Long takes use a lot of memory, so on a phone it is best to keep them shorter.
